In the upcoming weeks we will be receiving new data sets and surveys at the McMaster Research Data Centre. Please see the information below. Researchers interested in accessing these data sets are encouraged to submit proposals!

Labour Force Survey (LFS) 2015
New data from the Labour Force Survey (LFS) has just been released. The LFS provides estimates of employment and unemployment. Survey results are released 10 days after completion of data collection, making the LFS estimates a timely and important measure of economic performance. The LFS provides employment estimates by industry, occupation, public and private sector, hours worked and more, by a variety of demographic characteristics. Wages, union status, job permanency and workplace size are also available for employees. The LFS is a cross-sectional survey and uses a rotating panel sample design. Labour information is collected for all household members over age 15. The monthly sample size is approximately 56,000 households. This survey may useful those researchers interested in employment, hours of work, occupations, unionization, and wages. The McMaster RDC is now accepting proposals for research involving this data set.

For further details, please go to the information page on the LFS at the Statistics Canada website: http://www23.statcan.gc.ca/imdb/p2SV.pl?Function=getSurvey&SDDS=3701
