New data sets at the RDC:
In the upcoming weeks we will be receiving new data sets and surveys at the McMaster Research Data Centre. Please see the information below. Researchers interested in accessing these data sets are encouraged to submit proposals!

Canadian Survey on Disability (CSD)
The Canadian Survey on Disability gathers information on Canadians aged 15 and older living in the 10 provinces and 3 territories whose daily activities are hampered because of long-term conditions or health problems. This information is used to plan and evaluate services, policies and programs for those with disabilities to better enable their participation in Canadian society. The sample size was 45,443 individuals, with a 75% overall response rate. Data was collected directly from survey respondents via telephone interviews. Information collected included data on: type and severity of disabilities; help received or required; the use of assistive devices and aids; educational attainment; labour force status; accommodations and experiences at work or school; ability to get around the community; and various socio-economic indicators linked from the 2011 NHS. This data set may be of interest to researchers working in the fields of disability, equity/inclusion, and community health. The detailed information for 2012 was released in December 2013. The RDC is now accepting proposals for research involving the CSD.
