New data sets at the RDC:
In the upcoming weeks we will be receiving new data sets and surveys at the McMaster Research Data Centre. Please see the information below. Researchers interested in accessing these data sets are encouraged to submit proposals!

Life After Service Survey (LASS)
The Life After Service Survey (LASS) is a longitudinal study, and a component of multiple Veterans studies. It measures the health outcomes of those released from the Canadian Armed Forces and who have transitioned back to civilian life. This includes examining how health compares between released Reserve and Regular Force personnel, the change in health outcomes over time, and the reach and effectiveness of current health programs. Determinants of health variables include: income, education, employment, social supports, personal health practices, and access to health services. All those who were released from the Canadian Armed forces between 1998-2012 and Reservists who were released between 2003- 2012, and have not re-enlisted, were eligible for this survey. Researchers interested in labour, use of health care, and military service may find this data set very interesting.

Further information on the LASS can be found at: http://www23.statcan.gc.ca/imdb/p2SV.pl? Function=getSurvey&Survld=135915&lnstald=135917&SDDS=5172
