New data sets at the RDC:

In the upcoming weeks we will be receiving new data sets and surveys at the McMaster Research Data Centre.  Please see the information below.  Researchers interested in accessing these data sets are encouraged to submit proposals!

Canadian Community Health Survey (CCHS) linkage to the Discharge Abstract Database (DAD)

As part of its record linkage activities, Statistics Canada has linked the Canadian Community Health Survey (CCHS) cycles 1.1 to 2011, and CCHS Focus Content cycles on mental health (1.2), nutrition (2.2) and healthy aging (4.2), to the Discharge Abstract Database (DAD) for fiscal years 1999/2000 to 2012/2013.

Originally developed in 1963, the Discharge Abstract Database (DAD) captures administrative, clinical and demographic information on hospital discharges (including deaths, sign-outs and transfers). This data linkage is a collaboration between the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) and Statistics Canada.

The McMaster RDC is now accepting proposals for work with this data.   For information on the application process, please visit: https://www.statcan.gc.ca/eng/rdc/process
